Privacy Policy for EARTH INTEL

EARTH INTELLIGENCE LLC ("EARTH INTELLIGENCE," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the EARTH INTEL mobile application, our website at earthintel.io, and related services, features, communications, and support channels, collectively referred to as the "Services."

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the Services.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• The EARTH INTEL mobile application.
• EARTH INTEL account registration and authentication.
• EARTH INTEL Free and Pro features.
• S.E.N.T.R.Y AI interactions.
• Custom reports, intelligence briefs, event recaps, newsletters, alerts, and notifications.
• Archive bookmarks and personalization settings.
• Weather, map, market, news, and global-event features.
• The EARTH INTELLIGENCE website and support communications.

This policy does not govern third-party websites, applications, news sources, market-data providers, or other services linked from the Services. Those third parties have their own privacy policies and practices.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on the features you use.

2.1 Account and Contact Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

• Your name or display name.
• Your email address.
• Your unique account or user identifier.
• Authentication and verification information.
• Account creation, sign-in, verification, token refresh, and sign-out events.
• Your subscription tier and account status.
• Communications you send to our support team.

The app currently uses email-based one-time codes for authentication. We do not receive or store the password for your email account.

2.2 Support Information

When you contact support through the app, website, or email, we may collect:

• Your name.
• Your email address.
• Your phone number, if you choose to provide it.
• The contents of your message.
• Information necessary to investigate and respond to your request.

Support-form submissions may be processed through an automation provider used to route messages to the EARTH INTELLIGENCE team.

2.3 Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase or restore an EARTH INTEL Pro subscription, we may receive and process:

• The product or subscription purchased.
• Subscription and entitlement status.
• Subscription period.
• Original purchase date.
• Renewal, expiration, cancellation, and restoration status.
• Transaction and purchase-history information.
• A user identifier used to associate an entitlement with your EARTH INTEL account.

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store or by another applicable app-store provider. We do not directly collect or store your complete payment-card number, banking credentials, or app-store password.

2.4 Personalization and Preference Information

When you configure the Services, we may collect and store:

• Selected categories, topics, industries, zones, and regions.
• Feed and report preferences.
• Notification preferences.
• Time zone.
• Quiet-hour settings.
• Daily-report and event-alert settings.
• Saved Archive bookmarks.
• Selected newsletter, report, or event interests.
• Free or Pro feature eligibility.

We use this information to personalize feeds, generate reports, schedule notifications, and display relevant content.

2.5 Location Information

If you select and save a home location or search for a location, we may process and store:

• The location name.
• Latitude and longitude.
• A map or place identifier.
• Location search terms.
• Weather or event requests associated with that location.

A saved location may be linked to your EARTH INTEL account.

EARTH INTEL does not use location information for advertising and is not designed to continuously monitor your background location. Location information may nevertheless be considered precise location information under some privacy laws or app-store rules because saved coordinates can identify a specific place.

You can change or clear a saved location through available app controls.

2.6 S.E.N.T.R.Y AI and User Content

When you use S.E.N.T.R.Y or another AI-powered feature, we may collect and process:

• Questions, prompts, and instructions you submit.
• S.E.N.T.R.Y conversation history.
• Conversation titles and timestamps.
• Generated responses.
• Sources, event records, or public information used to prepare a response.
• Whether current web research or internal event data was used.
• Technical metadata associated with the generated response.
• A pseudonymous safety or account identifier.

Your prompts and relevant conversation context may be transmitted to an artificial-intelligence service provider to generate a response. S.E.N.T.R.Y may also search public web sources when current information is needed.

Do not submit confidential information, government-classified information, trade secrets, financial account credentials, health records, or other sensitive personal information that is not necessary to use the feature.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. It should not be treated as professional legal, medical, financial, investment, security, or emergency advice.

2.7 Reports, Briefs, Alerts, and Event Recaps

We may process and store information necessary to create and deliver:

• Custom intelligence reports.
• Morning and afternoon custom briefs.
• Event recaps and digests.
• AI-generated analysis and summaries.
• Report titles, content, images, sources, and timestamps.
• Report-generation status and error information.
• Notification titles, messages, delivery status, and open status.
• Identifiers that connect a notification to the correct report, brief, or event.

Custom briefs may be generated from your selected topics, categories, zones, and industries together with current EARTH INTELLIGENCE event data and public sources.

2.8 Push-Notification Information

If you allow notifications, we may collect and process:

• A Firebase, Apple Push Notification service, or other push-registration token.
• Device platform, such as iOS or Android.
• App identifier and app-instance information.
• Notification permission and registration status.
• Notification preferences and time zone.
• Notification delivery, failure, and open timestamps.
• Notification type and the identifier of the associated content.

Push-notification providers process the device token and notification payload to deliver alerts to your device.

You can disable notifications through your device settings. You may also be able to change specific notification categories inside the app.

2.9 Technical, Usage, and Diagnostic Information

We and our service providers may automatically process limited technical and operational information, including:

• App version.
• Operating system and device platform.
• Language, locale, and time zone.
• IP address and general network information.
• App-instance or installation identifiers.
• Authentication and security logs.
• Feature usage and product interactions.
• Session and request timestamps.
• Notification delivery information.
• Error messages and service-performance information.
• General device and application configuration.

We use this information to operate the Services, authenticate users, protect accounts, deliver notifications, investigate problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

We do not use this information for third-party behavioral advertising.

2.10 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from:

• Apple or another app-store provider concerning subscriptions and transactions.
• RevenueCat concerning subscription entitlements and purchase status.
• Google and Firebase concerning app installations and push-notification delivery.
• Supabase concerning authentication, account activity, database operations, and service security.
• Mapping, places, weather, market, and content providers when you request those services.
• Publicly available news, event, market, weather, and web sources.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

• Create, authenticate, and maintain accounts.
• Send and verify email access codes.
• Provide Free and Pro functionality.
• Confirm subscription status and restore purchases.
• Personalize feeds, reports, briefs, alerts, and recommendations.
• Generate S.E.N.T.R.Y responses and AI-powered reports.
• Save bookmarks, preferences, settings, and conversation history.
• Provide maps, weather information, market data, newsletters, and global-event information.
• Deliver push notifications and open the associated in-app content.
• Respond to support requests.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and service failures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
• Enforce our terms and protect our users, company, and legal rights.
• Satisfy legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and compliance obligations.

We may also use aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you for service analysis, reliability monitoring, and product development.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information under one or more of the following grounds:

• Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Services you request.
• Consent: Processing based on your permission, such as enabling push notifications or saving an optional location.
• Legitimate interests: Operating, securing, supporting, and improving the Services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligation: Processing necessary to comply with applicable laws, valid legal requests, tax rules, accounting requirements, or regulatory obligations.
• Protection of rights and safety: Processing necessary to protect users, EARTH INTELLIGENCE, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.

You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, although doing so will not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. Artificial Intelligence Processing

EARTH INTELLIGENCE uses third-party artificial-intelligence infrastructure, including OpenAI services, to generate S.E.N.T.R.Y responses, custom briefs, reports, summaries, and related analysis.

Depending on the feature, information sent for AI processing may include:

• Your prompt or question.
• Relevant recent conversation history.
• Selected interests and report preferences.
• Public event, news, market, weather, or web-source information.
• A pseudonymous identifier used for safety and abuse prevention.
• Instructions necessary to format the response.

AI inputs and outputs may be processed temporarily by the AI provider for service delivery, security, and abuse prevention according to its contractual terms and configured data controls.

We do not use S.E.N.T.R.Y conversations or custom reports to build advertising profiles or sell personal information. We do not intentionally authorize third-party AI providers to use EARTH INTEL API content to train public models.

Authorized EARTH INTELLIGENCE personnel may access AI-related content when reasonably necessary to provide support, investigate abuse, maintain security, comply with law, or correct service failures.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not display third-party advertising in the EARTH INTEL app.

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

6.1 Service Providers

We use service providers to operate the Services. These providers may process information only as necessary to perform services for us, subject to their contracts and privacy obligations.

Current provider categories include:

• Supabase: Authentication, databases, realtime features, storage, and server-side functions.
• OpenAI: AI response generation and related web-research capabilities.
• Google and Firebase: Push-notification delivery, app installations, maps, places, and related infrastructure.
• Apple: App distribution, subscriptions, transactions, and push-notification delivery.
• RevenueCat: Subscription entitlement and purchase-status management.
• n8n: Routing and automation of support communications.
• Weather, mapping, market, news, and content providers: Supplying requested data and content.

When necessary to provide a requested feature, these services may receive relevant identifiers, selected locations, search terms, prompts, technical metadata, or transaction information.

6.2 Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

• Comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or valid government request.
• Protect the rights, property, security, or safety of EARTH INTELLIGENCE, our users, or others.
• Investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms.
• Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6.3 Business Transactions

If EARTH INTELLIGENCE is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.

6.4 With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or provide consent.

7. No Sale, Advertising, or Cross-App Tracking

EARTH INTEL does not:

• Sell your personal information.
• Use your information for third-party behavioral advertising.
• Share personal information with data brokers.
• Use advertising identifiers to track you across unrelated companies' apps or websites.
• Display third-party advertisements inside the app.

If these practices change, we will update this policy and provide any legally required notice or consent mechanism before beginning the new processing.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Retention generally works as follows:

• Account and profile information is retained while your account is active.
• Preferences, saved locations, bookmarks, reports, briefs, and conversation history may remain associated with your account until you delete them or delete your account.
• Push-registration tokens are retained while enabled and may be disabled when you sign out or revoke notification access.
• Notification history may be retained to provide notification history, troubleshoot delivery, and measure service reliability.
• Support communications may be retained as necessary to resolve the request and maintain appropriate business records.
• Authentication, security, and operational logs may be retained for a limited period for security, fraud prevention, and reliability.
• Subscription and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until the relevant backup cycle expires.

When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it, subject to technical limitations and legal requirements.

9. Account Deletion and Data Requests

You may permanently delete your EARTH INTEL account from the Account section of the app. You may also request assistance by contacting support@earthintel.io.

When you confirm in-app account deletion, EARTH INTELLIGENCE will delete your authentication account and remove or de-identify the personal information associated with it, including:

• Your profile, name, email address, and saved home location.
• Feed topics, categories, industries, zones, and personalization settings.
• Notification preferences, notification history, and registered push-notification tokens.
• Archive bookmarks and other saved content.
• Custom reports, intelligence briefs, and event recaps associated with your account.
• S.E.N.T.R.Y conversation threads, prompts, and generated responses.
• Subscription status information stored in your EARTH INTEL profile.
• Other account-specific application data that is no longer required.

Deleting your EARTH INTEL account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or other app-store subscription. You must cancel the subscription through the applicable app store's subscription settings to prevent future renewal charges.

Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary for:

• Subscription, transaction, tax, or accounting records.
• Fraud prevention, security, and abuse investigations.
• Resolving disputes or enforcing agreements.
• Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
• Compliance with applicable laws and valid legal requests.
• Temporary backup and disaster-recovery systems until the applicable backup cycle expires.

Apple, RevenueCat, and other payment or app-store providers may retain transaction records under their own legal obligations and privacy policies. Account deletion will disconnect the deleted EARTH INTEL account from active application access, but it cannot require an independent app-store provider to delete records that provider is legally required to retain.

After deletion is completed, the account cannot be recovered. If you later return to EARTH INTEL, you will need to create a new account. Previously deleted reports, settings, bookmarks, conversations, and other account content will not be restored.

For other access, correction, portability, or deletion requests, email support@earthintel.io with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of personal information.
• Request a portable copy of certain information.
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Withdraw consent.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
• Opt out of targeted advertising.
• Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.
• File a complaint with a data-protection authority.

Because we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, an opt-out request will generally confirm our existing practices.

To exercise a privacy right, email support@earthintel.io with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

11. International Data Transfers

EARTH INTEL is available internationally. Personal information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures may include:

• Encrypted network connections.
• Authentication and session controls.
• Restricted administrative access.
• Database access policies.
• User-level data isolation.
• Service monitoring and logging.
• Secure credential and secret management.
• Vendor and infrastructure security controls.

No electronic system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.

You are responsible for maintaining control of your email account and devices used to access EARTH INTEL.

13. Third-Party Content and External Links

The Services may display or link to external news articles, websites, market sources, weather sources, maps, research, and other third-party content.

When you open an external link or use a third-party service, that provider may collect information under its own privacy policy. EARTH INTELLIGENCE does not control and is not responsible for independent third-party privacy practices.

14. Children's Privacy

EARTH INTEL is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Where local law establishes a higher minimum age for independent consent, the Services are not intended for users below that age without authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this section, contact support@earthintel.io so we can investigate and delete the information where appropriate.

15. Automated Processing

EARTH INTEL uses automated systems and artificial intelligence to personalize content and generate reports, briefs, summaries, and S.E.N.T.R.Y responses.

These features are informational. They are not used by EARTH INTELLIGENCE to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning employment, credit, insurance, housing, education, healthcare, or government benefits.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services, providers, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal information, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method.

Your continued use of the Services after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy where permitted by law.
